MIKE'S
OUTFITTING
1999 MULE DEER RIFLE HUNT REPORT
We
had our best season ever for big mule deer bucks in
spite of unseasonably warm weather.
We shot 3 giant non-typicals and 2 big typicals. 10
hunters came with us and shot 8 bucks for an 80%
success rate. The 2 hunters who didn't shoot deer
didn't see anything big enough. Quite a few good mule
deer were seen on the last hunt so next year should
be just as good or even better than 1999.
Rod
Lee and Jim Curran came from Wisconsin on
the first hunt and Rod shot a fantastic 196 non-typical.
Jim got a long tined, symmetrical 174 typical.
Greg May, from Michigan, hunted the second week
and killed a massive 180 typical that was just
under 31 " wide. The 3rd hunt saw Dewey
and Steve Adkison come to Alberta for their 3rd
mule deer hunt with us and they took two more great
bucks. Dewey shot a muley that one of our bowhunters
had a 27 yard shot on in the bow season. The guide,
Blaine Walburger, figured out where it might be hiding
and they got the incredible 16 point, 29 1/2" wide,
191 non-typical. Steve's deer was a very
heavy tall non-typical that scored 171. Mark
Slezak from Oregon, guided by Jim Schnell, got a
unique looking 190 non-typical. Brad Noblet
from Ohio shot a nice heavy 160 inch buck on the last
hunt.
Thanks to everybody who came mule deer, rifle hunting
with us and made it an enjoyable and successful season.
It especially would not be so successful without great
guides like Blaine Walburger, Jim Schnell, Lorne
Schlacter and Blair Stuber. They really know
the areas and work hard to get everybody good deer.

The year 2000 season is almost full and bookings are
coming in for 2001 so call right away if you are interested.
I hope to see you up here soon.
Yours truly,
Mike Ukrainetz
